Favorite Places To Escape Cold Winters

Over the five years we have been on the road full time, finding a place to spend the winters has been a priority. It’s our time to rest, reset and get ready for another summer of travel. We spend the time planning routes, reserving spaces and just readying our spirits for a new adventure.

Rural Georgia was okay. It was still a bit cold but there was no snow and limited wind. We were tucked in to a private campground near the air force base. (look up the campground name). Find photos to upload. Flush out the review of the campground and local area along with driving distance, etc.

The next year we got a call from (look up name of campground) in Coden, Alabama. It’s just across the bridge from Dauphin Island. Flush out the review of the campground and local area along with driving distance to grocery, gas, etc.

The least favorite winter spot was Quartzite. While the camping was free and the town is setup to cater to full time RVers who enjoy boondocking, it was constantly cold and windy. I mean park the truck in front of the rig to blog the wind type of windy. There are a lot of people that go out there. The trouble is you need to move every two weeks, dump tanks, etc. Not exactly a place to rest or reset. There are limited things to do in the area. Once you’ve done them, you’ve done them and there’s nothing left to do but sit until the weather clears enough to travel.

Desert Hot Springs – flush this out to include reviews, things to do, etc.
